architettura in outsourcing

The entrustment to third parties of the preparation of an architectural rendering or a detailed drawing is facilitated by the fact that this event usually happens when the design is complete, and the information at this point is defined and can be used by other professionals for different supplementary subjects such as a rendering itself, a detailed project, a study of lighting...
The rendering, as well as the detailed design, is however a verification phase of the final design, and as such, setups are possible as a result of the information derived from this survey, which in fact is more in-depth into the object building. On this "investigation" the client can draw to modify and refine the project without losing control and without distorting it. In simple words, the client-architect can return to its core business, the planning, and delegate to others the issues which go beyond this activity.

The architectural rendering consists in the generation by computer of an image, object or architecture having as basis of mathematical language the mathematical parameterization of a three-dimensional scene.
The main elements are:

  • Objects
  • The point of view
  • The materials
  • Illumination

It represents objects in their geometrical characteristics, associated with a point of view (be it in perspective or isometric), which characterize the materials, and lighting effects that can give special emphasis to certain parts or achieve special effects.

Nowadays renderings are increasingly demanded for various purposes:

  • Commercial purposes;
  • Verification purposes;
  • Explanatory purposes

The rendering for commercial purposes is used to give the customer an image, real or suggestion, to render the defined product. We think of the rendering as a document to be submitted to a client to let him understand and evaluate (and possibly approve) a project. Or to a rendering for a real estate or marketing company, who must put on the market a building before completion of the work by portraying it with evocative and suggestive images that attract buyers, and make the whole process of building profitable and feasible.

ci sono diversi tipi di render architettonici

The rendering for verification purposes is especially useful for designers to evaluate their work in progress. Simple three-dimensional modeling programs are enough for this type of renderings and they are often available in freeware version, intuitive and easy-to-use, unlike most comprehensive programs, take up little RAM memory of your pc and have faster rendering processes. Think of the widespread SketchUp, useful for modeling simple volumes, but rendering only in its full version (no longer free) or via various plug-in yield, however, not always optimal.

The rendering for explanatory purposes in the field of architecture belongs to the category of all those images (renderings and photomontages) increasingly required by the Government for the approval of construction projects. So, for example, the Environmental Impact Assessments, but often also the "simple" Building Permissions when they involve changes that the Public Administration intends to establish by means of rendering and virtual images of the proposed building.

The success of a renderings, which must be not only accurate in its geometry but also have characteristics of truthfulness and often charm and appeal, largely depends on who drew them up.
The same observations made for other types of reports, such as the drawings of a detailed design, can be applied, for which the ability of the performer is important to have a useful product for the intended purpose: the efficient transmission of information.
The technical knowledge does not complete the render operator: it is required the ability to produce "targeted" and "good taste" renderings, which do not allow to regret a drawing made by a skilled hand, and that actually serve their purpose, whether commercial, for verification or explanatory.

Currently, in the field of building design, renderings are the most widespread objects of outsourcing: it often happens that their implementation is delegated.

il render è spesso l'oggetto di outsourcing

Renderings require specific knowledge on the side of the editor, equipment (hardware and software) and adequate skills, which not all the practices have and nor they are interested to invest into. To outsource a rendering means to save huge time, human and material resources. And this is already happening in case of other issues of building design professionals entrusted to third parties who are specialized in a particular field. For example, structural projects and MEP engineering, geological surveys, lighting consultancies, the same shop drawings that Collettivo4 Outsourcing has made its specialty.

It is therefore more convenient and affordable to entrust renderings (and other issues) to other professionals, who take care of the processing by following the instructions and requirements of the customer.
